Come with us for a day filled with flavours and traditions at the heart of Colombia's coffee region in this Campesino Cheese workshop. We'll visit a finca and learn the secrets behind this product!
Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll meet in front of Hotel Movich de Pereira. When everyone has arrived, we will proceed to Villa Claudia, where the workshop will occur.
We will walk towards Olaya Herrera Park and board the Megacable, Pereira's cable car, to the station where a Willys vehicle will be waiting. We will travel about 25 minutes to the finca.
Upon arrival at Villa Claudia, the hosts will greet us with chocolate, arepa, and cheese for breakfast. While we eat, the estate caretakers will share insights about their sustainable practices.
After breakfast, we will begin the preparation of Campesino Cheese, a moist, fresh, and soft cheese native to Colombia. You will learn important information about this widely consumed product.
During the cheese resting stage, we will visit the finca's surroundings to understand the work of each employee. At noon, we will enjoy a homestyle lunch featuring sancocho, a meat and vegetable soup.
Following the meal, we will weigh the cheese we made, packaging it in organic coverings to take home. After 5 hours, we will conclude the workshop and say our goodbyes at the original meeting point.
