La Virginia & El Guásimo Excursion

Pickup is at 7:30 am at your hotel in Pereira. We will head towards La Virginia, located 35 kilometers away.

The first stop will be at the El Guásimo Natural Reserve, which covers 1,400 hectares of the Cauca River Valley. Here, we will engage in a three-hour walk along the nature trail.

Upon reaching the Cauca River, we will follow it for an hour, traversing the dry tropical forest. This forest is unique to the Andean region, emphasizing the importance of the park in protecting the 400 hectares of dry Andean forest.

Throughout the tour, we will observe the great diversity of flora and fauna in this protected area, combining sport, nature, and environmental preservation.

A lunch break featuring a regional dish and a drink will be included. Afterward, we will continue to La Virginia, a town by the Cauca and Risaralda rivers, where we will explore its main attractions, local legends, and traditions.

We will return to Pereira and drop you off at your hotel around 1:30 pm.
