Marsella Excursion

After picking you up at your hotel in Pereira at 7:30 am, we'll head north towards the town of Marsella, traveling through the coffee plantations of the Cauca River Valley in a 4x4 vehicle.

Following our arrival in Marsella about an hour later, we'll visit a local farm where we'll be welcomed with an appetizer of patacones con hogao, fried plantains with an onion and tomato sauce made with organic products from their own garden.

We will tour the farm to see their cacao trees and learn about the artisanal process of making organic chocolate, including the extraction, roasting, and grinding of cacao beans to produce cacao juice. This will culminate in a delicious chocolate drink accompanying a typical lunch like sancocho (chicken and vegetables), made with farm products.

After lunch, we'll travel to the town of Marsella for a coffee in the main square, where we’ll appreciate the colonial architecture, including the Casa de la Cultura, which serves as a museum. We will also visit the Botanical Garden and the José María Cemetery, notable attractions in Marsella.

Finally, we will return to Pereira and drop you off at your hotel at 4:30 pm.
