Peso da Régua Tile Painting Workshop
We'll meet at 9:30 am at the Marta Barata Studio, Shop and School of Peso da Régua, where our tile painting workshop will take place.
In the 15th century, Arabic influence made the Al-zuleique fashionable in Portugal. This led to its presence in convents, palaces, houses, and gardens, becoming a characteristic element of Portuguese architecture. Before we start, we'll see a selection of tiles featuring figurative, ornamental, and pattern designs.
After learning about the history of this art form, we'll begin painting. Once you've completed your piece, it will be fired in the urn. If desired, the finished tiles can be sent to your home.
