Peso da Régua Tile Painting Workshop
We'll meet at 9:30 am at the Marta Barata Studio, Shop and School of Peso da Régua, where our tile painting workshop will take place.
In the 15th century, Arabic influence made the Al-zuleique fashionable in Portugal. It then began to feature in many convents, palaces, houses, and gardens, becoming a characteristic element of Portuguese architecture. Before we start, we'll see a selection of tiles with different representations: figurative, ornamental, and pattern.
After learning about the history of this art form, we'll get started. When you've finished painting your piece, it will be fired in the urn, and the workshop will end. If you wish, the tiles can be sent to your home.
