Peso da Régua Tile Painting Workshop
We'll meet at 9:30 am at the Marta Barata Studio, Shop and School of Peso da Régua, where our tile painting workshop will take place.
In the 15th century, Arabic influence made the Al-zuleique fashionable in Portugal. It became a characteristic element of Portuguese architecture, featured in convents, palaces, houses, and gardens. Before starting, we'll view a selection of tiles showcasing different representations: figurative, ornamental, and pattern.
Following the introduction to the history of this art form, we'll commence the painting process. Once you've completed your piece, it will be fired in the urn, marking the end of the workshop. If desired, the tiles can be sent to your home.
