Pietrapertosa Guided Tour

We'll meet at the bus stop on Via Umberto I to start this guided tour of Pietrapertosa. Located more than 1,000 metres (3,280 feet) above sea level, it is the highest town in Basilicata.

Situated in the heart of the Lucanian Dolomites, Pietrapertosa features remains of fortifications from the Norman period. Our first stop will be the Franciscan Temple to learn about this building constructed in 1474. Next, we will visit the Church of San Giacomo Maggiore and stroll through the narrow streets of L’Arabata, the oldest neighborhood in Pietrapertosa.

We will then ascend to the old Via dei Portali and the impressive Angel Flight, where you will enjoy views of Pietrapertosa and the valley below. After a total duration of 2.5 hours, we will conclude the tour and say our goodbyes back at the meeting point.
