Pietrapertosa Guided Tour

We'll meet at the bus stop on Via Umberto I to start the guided tour of Pietrapertosa. Located more than 1,000 metres (3,280 feet) above sea level, it's the highest town in Basilicata.

Situated in the heart of the Lucanian Dolomites, Pietrapertosa features remains of fortifications from the Norman period.

The first stop will be the Franciscan Temple, where we'll learn about its history dating back to 1474. We'll continue to the Church of San Giacomo Maggiore and stroll through the narrow streets of L’Arabata, the oldest neighbourhood in Pietrapertosa.

Next, we will ascend to the old Via dei Portali and the remarkable Angel Flight. From this point, you'll enjoy views of Pietrapertosa and the valley below.

After a total of 2.5 hours, we will conclude the tour back at the meeting point.
