Pietrapertosa Guided Tour

We'll meet at the bus stop on Via Umberto I to start this guided tour of Pietrapertosa, which is located over 1,000 metres (3,280 feet) above sea level and is the highest town in Basilicata.

Pietrapertosa, situated in the heart of the Lucanian Dolomites, features remains of fortifications from the Norman period.

The tour begins at the Franciscan Temple, established in 1474, where we will explore the history of this ancient building. We will proceed to the Church of San Giacomo Maggiore and navigate the narrow streets of L’Arabata, the oldest neighborhood in Pietrapertosa.

Next, we will ascend to the old Via dei Portali and the remarkable Angel Flight, from where you can enjoy stunning views of Pietrapertosa and the surrounding valley.

After a total of 2.5 hours, we will conclude the tour and return to the meeting point.
