Pietrapertosa Guided Tour

We'll meet at the specified time at the bus stop on Via Umberto I to begin this guided tour of Pietrapertosa. Located more than 1,000 metres (3,280 feet) above sea level, it is the highest town in Basilicata.

In the heart of the Lucanian Dolomites, Pietrapertosa features fortifications from the Norman period.

The first stop will be the Franciscan Temple, established in 1474, to learn about its history. Next, we will visit the Church of San Giacomo Maggiore and stroll through the narrow streets of L’Arabata, the oldest neighbourhood in Pietrapertosa.

Then, we will proceed to the old Via dei Portali and the impressive Angel Flight. From this vantage point, you will enjoy views of Pietrapertosa and the valley below.

After a total of 2.5 hours, we will conclude back at the meeting point.
