Pietrapertosa Guided Tour

We'll meet at the indicated time at the bus stop on Via Umberto I to start this guided tour of Pietrapertosa. Located over 1,000 metres (3,280 feet) above sea level, it is the highest town in Basilicata.

Situated in the heart of the Lucanian Dolomites, Pietrapertosa features remains of fortifications from the Norman period.

The first stop will be the Franciscan Temple, where we will learn about this ancient building from 1474. We will then continue to the Church of San Giacomo Maggiore and walk through the narrow streets of L’Arabata, the oldest neighbourhood in Pietrapertosa.

Next, we will ascend to the old Via dei Portali and the significant Angel Flight. From this vantage point, you will have impressive views of Pietrapertosa and the valley below.

After a total duration of 2.5 hours, we will conclude the tour back at the meeting point.
