Besalú and Rupit are two notable medieval towns in Catalonia, offering a chance to explore their historic bridges and cobbled streets.

Description

The tour starts in the morning, beginning with a 1.5-hour journey to Rupit. Upon arrival, you'll have free time to explore the area at your own pace, including its cobbled streets and typical stone houses from the medieval period.

After visiting Rupit, the tour proceeds to the Santuario de la Mare de Déu del Far, located more than 1,000 metres above, where you can see the chapel and enjoy views of Gerona and the surrounding countryside.

Next, the tour takes you to Besalú, approximately 50 minutes from the sanctuary. The town is recognized for its well-preserved medieval architecture, including a notable 10th-century fortress. Important sites include the medieval bridge, the Jewish Mikveh, the church of San Pedro de Besalú, and the old Pilgrim's hospital. A traditional lunch is provided before returning to the starting points.
