Guided Tour of the Cathedral + Leaning Tower

Our tour begins in Piazza Manin, in front of the Porta Santa Maria Arch which forms the entrance to the Piazza dei Miracoli. This UNESCO World Heritage Site includes several monuments in Pisa, starting with St. John's Baptistery, the largest in Italy, dating from the 12th century. The tour will cover the austere cemetery walls and provide insights into the architecture of the Piazza dei Miracoli before entering the cathedral for a guided tour. The tour details the cathedral's construction, beginning in the 11th century, and explores its artistic works, including mosaics, paintings, a detailed tiled ceiling, marble sculptures, and a gigantic pulpit.

Climb the Leaning Tower of Pisa

During the booking process, you can opt to climb the Leaning Tower of Pisa. This is a 30-minute unguided visit, providing tickets to ascend to the top of the bell tower for its views, allowing you to avoid the long lines at the entrance.

Children Under 8

For safety reasons, children under 8 may not climb the leaning tower. The Leaning Tower is also not suitable for individuals with reduced mobility.

Temporary Closures of the Cathedral

Visits to the cathedral may occasionally be restricted due to special masses.

2025 Jubilee

During the 2025 Jubilee, the Cathedral may be fully or partially closed to visitors. On these occasions, and on Sunday mornings, guides will provide explanations from the exterior.
