Paestum Tour

After meeting at your selected point, we'll depart by minibus to the archaeological site of Paestum, where we'll explore three Doric temples dedicated to Hera and Athena.

Upon arrival in Paestum, we will walk through the archaeological park to learn about its origins. The city of Magna Graecia was founded as Poseidonia. First, we'll visit the Temple of Hera I, a Doric building from 550 BC dedicated to the goddess of family and fertility.

Next, we'll examine the Temple of Neptune, also known as the Temple of Hera II, which is the largest temple in Paestum. We'll then visit the Temple of Athena, formerly known as the Temple of Ceres.

After touring the archaeological site, we'll head to the museum in the park to learn about the vast collection of artifacts uncovered during Paestum's excavations, including pottery, weapons, frescoed tombstones, and grave goods from the Greek and Lucanian necropolis.

Additionally, we will admire the famous frescoes in the Tomb of the Diver, the only surviving example of Greek painting with figurative scenes.

After four hours of exploration, we'll return to Pisciotta and take you back to the starting point.
