Leave Pisciotta behind for this excursion to Paestum, one of the most significant archaeological sites in Italy!

Paestum Tour

After meeting at your selected point, we'll travel by minibus to the archaeological site of Paestum, home to three Doric temples dedicated to Hera and Athena.

Upon arrival, we will walk through the archaeological park to learn about its origins. The city of Magna Graecia was founded as Poseidonia, in honor of Poseidon. First, we'll visit the Temple of Hera I, a Doric structure from 550 BC dedicated to the goddess of family and fertility.

Next, we will explore the Temple of Neptune (also known as the Temple of Hera II), the largest temple in Paestum, followed by the Temple of Athena, previously referred to as the Temple of Ceres.

After visiting the archaeological site, we will proceed to the museum in the park to examine the vast collection of artifacts uncovered during the excavations, including pottery, weapons, frescoed tombstones, and grave goods from the Greek and Lucanian necropolis.

We will also view the famous frescoes of the Tomb of the Diver, recognized as the only surviving example of Greek painting depicting figurative scenes.

After four hours of exploring, we will return to Pisciotta and transport you back to the starting point.
