Paestum Tour

After meeting at your selected point, we'll travel by minibus to the archaeological site of Paestum, which features three Doric temples dedicated to Hera and Athena.

Upon arrival in Paestum, we will walk through the archaeological park to explore its origins. This city of Magna Graecia was founded as Poseidonia, in honor of Poseidon. First, we will visit the Temple of Hera I, a Doric structure from 550 BC dedicated to the goddess of family and fertility.

Next, we will see the Temple of Neptune, also known as the Temple of Hera II, the largest temple in Paestum. Then, we will visit the Temple of Athena, formerly known as the Temple of Ceres.

After exploring the archaeological site, we will head to the park's museum, where we will learn about the vast collection of artifacts uncovered during excavations. This includes pottery, weapons, frescoed tombstones, and grave goods from the Greek and Lucanian necropolis.

We will also admire the famous frescoes of the Tomb of the Diver, the only surviving example of Greek painting with figurative scenes.

After four hours of exploration, we will return to Pisciotta and bring you back to your starting point.
