Roccagloriosa Excursion

On this excursion to Roccagloriosa, located north of Monte Bulgheria, we will explore a village renowned for its historic connections, including ties to the famous comedian Totò.

The tour begins at 5 pm on Via Borgo, departing from Pisciotta toward the Cilento National Park, situated between the gulfs of Salerno and Policastro.

Roccagloriosa is situated on a hillside with remarkable views, and the journey will take us through the northern part of Mount Bulgheria, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Participants will also have the chance to view Mount Bulirla from the bus.

Upon arriving in Roccagloriosa, we will walk through its streets, discovering key historical sites and learning about the town's origins, which date back to the 13th century, although some artifacts in the antique shop and Civic Museum suggest an even older history.

The tour includes visits to several noble palaces and discussions about Totò, whose legendary origins are tied to the love story of his mother, Anna Clemente, and the Marquis De Curtis.

We will also tour the ruins of the castle of Roccagloriosa and visit its churches.

The excursion concludes with a return to Pisciotta, where we will drop off participants at the starting point by 9 pm.
