Description
At 9 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Neuquén and drive for about an hour to Villa El Chocón.
Once we arrive, we'll tour the town, starting at the viewpoint of Lake Exequiel Ramos Mejía, where you can see the dam generating hydroelectric power.
Next, we'll visit the center of Villa El Chocón for some free time. Optionally, a guided excursion to Cañadón Escondido is available, including a trekking route through a unique ravine.
We'll reconvene to take a guided tour of the Ernesto Bachmann Paleontological Museum featuring the skeleton of Giganotosaurus Carolini, the largest known prehistoric carnivore. Afterwards, enjoy an hour of free time for lunch in El Chocón before we return to Neuquén, arriving around 3 pm.
Villa El Chocón & Plaza Huincul (8 hours)
For an extended excursion, we'll follow the same itinerary and after lunch in Villa El Chocón, proceed to Plaza Huincul. Here, we'll visit the Carmen Funes Paleontological Museum to see the skeleton of Argentinosaurus Huinculensis, the largest herbivore known.
