Montenegro Great Monastery Private Tour: Cetinje, Ostrog and Morača

The territory of today’s Montenegro has a large number of monasteries, churches and temples of various religious confessions. Montenegrins are very religious people, the majority of the population are members of the Orthodox religion. Visit three of the largest sanctuaries in Montenegro and find out interesting stories about relics (the right hand of John the Baptist, a peace the Holy Cross and the icon Philermos) in Cetinje Monastery, Saint Vasily in Ostrog Monastery, as well as frescoes of post Byzantine period in Morača Monastery. Also, in this tour, you will be able to see historical part of Old Royal Capital, Cetinje.

Start the day by driving towards Cetinje (from 45 min to 1 hour and 30 min, depending on the place or city of departure).

You will pass 1 hour in Cetinje, walking through the historical part of the town, visiting the Cetinje Monastery, passing by the Ćipuri Church, Biljarda, King Nicola’s Museum, the Presidential Palace and taking a walk on the main pedestrian street.

After approximately one hour on the road, you will reach Ostrog Monastery, where you will enjoy a 30 minutes coffee break and/or breakfast at the restaurant on the way to the monastery (optional, not included)

We arrive at Ostrog Monastery, where you will have free time for sightseeing the Upper and Lower Monastery during 90 minutes. In the Upper monastery we will bow to the relics of the great Saint Vasily Ostroški and hear incredible tales of Ostrog miracles

The last stop of the day is Morača Monastery, located one hour away from Ostrog. Enjoy 45 minutes free time for sightseeing and experiencing the peace and enchanting ambience of Morača Monastery.

On the way back to the meeting point, we will stop for approximately one hour at a local restaurant where you can have lunch on your own (no included).
