Dive into the history of one of the most fascinating cities of the ancient Roman Empire on this excursion to the Herculaneum ruins.

Herculaneum Ruins Excursion

You will be picked up at your hotel or selected meeting point at the indicated time and travel to the archaeological site of Herculaneum, one of the three Roman cities buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. The excursion includes exploring the cobblestone streets, visiting houses and thermal complexes that survived the pyroclastic flow, and learning about ancient structures, including the gymnasium.

During the visit, you will admire the preservation of the materials and facades of the buildings while discussing artistic styles and construction techniques. Highlights include emblematic monuments such as the Hall of the Augustals, the baths, the House of Aristides and Neptune, the Samnite House and the beach where over 300 people perished.

After 2 hours of hiking, there will be free time for rest or food before returning to the starting point.
