Dive into the history of one of the most fascinating cities of the ancient Roman Empire on this excursion to the Herculaneum ruins.

Herculaneum Ruins Excursion

We'll pick you up at your hotel or selected meeting point at the indicated time and set off for the archaeological site of Herculaneum, one of the three Roman cities buried by the catastrophic eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD.

We'll start by exploring the cobblestone streets of the site, seeing houses and thermal complexes that survived the pyroclastic flow of the volcano. The ancient Herculaneum also had a gymnasium.

As you admire the well-preserved materials and facades, we'll discuss the artistic styles and construction techniques of that time.

We'll visit the site's notable monuments, including the Hall of the Augustals, the baths, the House of Aristides and Neptune, the Samnite House, and the beach where over 300 people died.

At the end of the visit, you will have free time to rest or eat.

Finally, after 2 hours of hiking, we will return to the starting point.
