Guided Tour of Ponferrada Castle
We will assemble at the designated time at the entrance ramps of the Templar Castle of Ponferrada, which is conveniently situated next to the Church of San Andrés.
Our journey will commence with an exploration of the castle, where we will uncover its captivating history. This fortress was once under the control of the Order of the Knights Templar. We will highlight the early days of this significant religious and military order and its connections to the El Bierzo region.
As we navigate through the castle, we will ascend to the heights of its defensive towers to take in the spectacular panorama of Ponferrada and the adjacent mountain ranges. After soaking in these vistas, we will continue our visit through various sections of the castle, marveling at its grand scale.
After approximately an hour and a half of exploring this extraordinary fortress, our guided tour will conclude at the base of the Moclín Tower. From this point, you will have the opportunity to further discover any sections of the castle that pique your interest at your own pace.
