Tebaida Berciana Tour

La Tebaida Berciana is an area of León with historical and natural value, declared a Picturesque Landscape and an Asset of Cultural Interest. The tour begins at the parking lot of Montes de Valdueza at the indicated time.

First, we will visit the monastery of San Pedro de Montes, founded by San Fructuoso in the 7th century. Notable rooms include the kitchen, abbot's quarters, and the church.

After touring the monastery, return to the parking lot and follow the guide in your own car to Peñalba de Santiago, located 15 minutes away. This village is regarded as one of the most beautiful in Spain.

The Peñalba tour will begin at the Mozarabic church, followed by a walk through the cobbled streets to see typical slate-roof houses.

After 2.5 hours of exploring Tebaida Berciana, the tour concludes at the viewpoint of Peñalba de Santiago.

Please note that on Sundays at 4 pm, the church of Peñalba de Santiago will be closed. We will admire the church's exterior and delve into its history.
