Tebaida Berciana Tour

The Tebaida Berciana is an area of the province of León with great historical and natural value that was declared a Picturesque Landscape and an Asset of Cultural Interest. To begin the tour, we'll meet at the indicated time in the parking lot of Montes de Valdueza.

First, we'll visit the monastery of San Pedro de Montes, founded by San Fructuoso in the 7th century. Key rooms include the kitchen, abbot's quarters, and the church.

After the monastery visit, we will return to the parking lot of Montes de Valdueza, where participants will follow the guide in their own car to Peñalba de Santiago. After a 15-minute drive, we will arrive at this village known for its charm.

We will start the tour of Peñalba by visiting the Mozarabic church. Then, we will stroll through the cobbled streets, observing the typical houses with slate roofs.

After exploring the Tebaida Berciana for 2.5 hours, we'll conclude the tour at the viewpoint of Peñalba de Santiago.

Closing of Monuments

Please note that on Sundays at 4 pm, the church of Peñalba de Santiago will be closed to the public. In this case, we'll admire the church's exterior while discussing its history.
