Furnas Day Trip + Gorreana Tea Plantations

Description

We'll meet on Avenida João Bosco Mota Amaral in Ponta Delgada and set off along the island's southern coastline. Our first stop will be in the coastal town of Vila Franca do Campo, where we will admire the Islet of Vila Franco do Campo: a volcanic caldera located just off the town's coast.

Next, we will continue inland, exploring landscapes marked by volcanic activity. We will visit the calderas and lagoon of Furnas to understand the origins of various volcanic vents.

After our exploration, we will enjoy a traditional lunch at a nearby restaurant. Following lunch, we will head to the north of the island to visit the Gorreana tea plantations, one of the Azores' most renowned tea manufacturers. We will try some of their teas to appreciate their aromas and flavours. Finally, we will return to Ponta Delgada.
