Povoação and Nordeste Day Trip

Discover the volcanic landscapes of the northeast of Sao Miguel, visiting true geographical treasures such as the towns of Povoação and Nordeste.

Day Trip Details

At the indicated time, we'll meet at João Bosco Mota Amaral Avenue in Ponta Delgada and head toward the coast of São Miguel. Along this route, we'll encounter fishing villages like Ribeira Grande, where we'll make a brief stop, and continue to the Santa Iria viewpoint.

Our journey will then take us to Ribeira dois Caldeirões, where we'll have lunch at a local restaurant, experiencing regional flavors.

Next, we will visit Nordeste. From a nearby viewpoint, we will see the Arnel Lighthouse.

Continuing, we will arrive at iconic viewpoints of Nordeste, such as Ponta do Sossego and Ponta da Madrugada, before reaching the coastal village of Povoação.

Finally, we will return to Ponta Delgada, passing through the Salto do Cavalo viewpoint, where we will enjoy a view of Lagoa das Furnas.
