São Miguel: 2 Day Tour

Make the most of your time in the Azores on this ultimate tour of São Miguel. You'll spend two days exploring the island's volcanic landscapes and visiting its most important landmarks.

Day 1: Furnas & Tea Plantations (8 hours)

At the indicated time, we'll meet on João Bosco Mota Amaral Avenue in Ponta Delgada to set off by minibus to Vila Franca do Campo. After a stroll through its streets and admiring the view of the volcanic islet, we'll return to the minibus for the drive to Furnas.

Furnas features volcanic calderas, fumaroles, and a lagoon. We'll explore the area and take a break to eat a delicious cozido à portuguesa, a typical dish of São Miguel. You can also opt to visit botanical gardens at your own pace.

The last stop of the day will be at the Gorreana tea plantations, where we'll taste one of their famous infusions. The tour will end at about 4:30 pm.

Day 2: Sete Cidades & Lagoa do Fogo (8 hours)

We'll pick you up again at the meeting point and visit the centre of São Miguel Island to admire Lagoa do Fogo. We'll discover how this volcanic lake was formed and explore its surrounding flora and fauna.

The rest of the day will involve visiting viewpoints around Lagoa das Sete Cidades, the most famous spring in this area. We'll cross the bridge while revealing interesting facts about this natural spot.

Before returning to your accommodation, we'll enjoy lunch in a traditional restaurant. The excursion will conclude with a drop-off at the starting point at 4:30 pm.
