When making your reservation for the private tour of São Miguel, you'll be able to choose from three different options. All of them start at 9 am at your hotel and include lunch and an English-speaking guide just for you. They all will end back at your accommodation around 5 pm.

West Coast Tour

This option begins with a visit to the Vista do Rei viewpoint for views of the Sete Cidades crater and the Azul and Verde lakes. The tour then proceeds to the Mata do Canário Natural Park, known for its lakes. Lunch will be in the town of Lagoa, followed by a visit to the historic center of Ribeira Grande with its 17th-century buildings. The tour concludes at Pico da Barrosa with views of Lagoa do Fogo.

Northeastern São Miguel tour

This tour explores the northeast, the oldest geological area, featuring forests, mountains, waterfalls, and viewpoints of the sea. You will visit small villages and local handicraft stores to learn about traditional techniques. Lunch is in Achadinha, and the tour continues to the village of Povoação, where the first settlers arrived.

Southern São Miguel tour

The tour moves to the south side, starting with the Furnas Valley. A stop at Lagoa showcases ceramic handicrafts, followed by a visit to Vila Franca do Campo, the former capital. In Furnas, a traditional lunch known as cozido na Caldeira will be served, cooked using volcanic heat, before heading to the Pico do Ferro viewpoint for panoramic views.
