West Coast Tour
This option begins at the Vista do Rei viewpoint for views of the Sete Cidades crater and Azul and Verde lakes. Next, we will visit the Mata do Canário Natural Park, which has several small lakes. Lunch will be in the town of Lagoa at a local restaurant, followed by a visit to the historic center of Ribeira Grande, featuring 17th-century buildings. The tour concludes at Pico da Barrosa for views of Lagoa do Fogo.
Northeastern São Miguel tour
This tour goes to the northeast, the oldest geological area with forests, mountains, and waterfalls. We will visit local handicraft stores to learn about traditional techniques. Lunch will be in Achadinha, followed by a visit to the village of Povoação, where the first settlers landed.
Southern São Miguel tour
This tour heads to the south side, stopping in the village of Lagoa for ceramic handicrafts, then visiting Vila Franca do Campo, the former capital.
