Sete Cidades and Lagoa do Fogo

We'll meet up at Avenida João Bosco Mota Amaral and head out of Ponta Delgada towards Lagoa do Fogo, a notable crater lake in the Azores. As we explore, we’ll learn about volcanic geography while admiring the lagoon’s views. Local authorities have prohibited construction within several kilometers to preserve its beauty.

After viewing Lagoa do Fogo from several viewpoints, we will continue northwest to Sete Cidades. The bLagoon of Sete Cidades consists of two halves: the Blue Lagoon and the Green Lagoon. We will cross the bridge connecting both halves to appreciate their contrasting colors.

We'll take a break for a buffet lunch at a local restaurant, providing an opportunity to taste local cuisine. After lunch, we will return along the southwestern coastline back to Ponta Delgada.
