We'll meet up at Avenida João Bosco Mota Amaral and head out of Ponta Delgada away from the coast, where we'll discover one of the island's most sublime spots: the Lagoa do Fogo lagoon. This lagoon, a natural treasure of the Azores islands, is known by geologists as a crater lake. While we discover how this type of volcanic geography is formed, we'll be able to admire the breathtaking views of the lagoon and its natural surroundings. To maintain its beauty, local authorities prohibit the construction of buildings within several kilometres of this site.

After taking in the magnificent views of Lagoa do Fogo from various viewpoints, we'll continue our journey towards the northwest of the island. Here, we will visit another of São Miguel's outstanding natural wonders: the Sete Cidades lagoon and crater. Did you know that its name means seven cities?

The Lagoa das Sete Cidades lagoon is divided into two halves, the Blue Lagoon and the Green Lagoon. We'll cross over the bridge that connects one half to the other to truly appreciate the contrasting colours on both sides of this natural masterpiece.

We'll pause along the way to replenish our energy with a buffet lunch at a local restaurant, an excellent opportunity to experience the island's delicious cuisine! After lunch, we'll follow the road along the southwestern coastline to return back to Ponta Delgada.
