Condor Watching in Puracé + San Juan Hot Springs Tour
Pickup from your hotel in Popayán is at 7:40 am for a visit to Puracé National Natural Park. The tour includes climbing through indigenous villages where agricultural practices, including milk extraction, are observed, along with views of local crops.
Arrival at the condor stone is around 10 am, where an offering will be made. Guests can observe Andean condors from a distance of 8 metres (26 feet) for about an hour.
The journey continues through the valley of the frailejones, which grow at a rate of one centimetre each year, and past the Bedón waterfall at 3600 metres (11811 feet) and a viewpoint overlooking Andulbio lagoon.
Next, the tour passes by the Pozo de los Deseos and reaches the thermal baths of San Juan, where guests can relax. Lunch follows at a local restaurant with a menu of grilled fish or meat, along with rice, salad, soup, patacones, and a hot drink.
After lunch, the return to your hotel in Popayán is expected by 6 pm.
