Tour Details
We'll pick you up at the indicated time at your hotel in Popayán and drive to the north of the department of Cauca. After a 1.5-hour drive, we'll arrive in Silvia, a town in a valley of the Cordillera Central of Colombia.
In Silvia, known as the 'Switzerland of America', we'll take a guided tour to see its main attractions, including the welcome sign, the Nuestra Señora de Chiquinquirá parish church, and the Belén viewpoint. On Tuesdays, we will also visit the indigenous market.
At midday, we will have a break for a typical lunch featuring fish, meat, or grilled chicken, along with side dishes and a drink.
Next, we'll depart for the Guambia region to visit Casa Payán, key for preserving ancestral medicine. Here we will learn about native medicinal plants, their preparation, and health benefits. We will also explore a botanical garden of medicinal and ancestral plants while understanding the Misak cosmovision and their connection to nature.
