Samaipata 2 Day Trip

Day 1: Santa Cruz - Samaipata

At 8 am, we will pick you up from your hotel and set off west from Santa Cruz de la Sierra towards Samaipata. During the journey, you will view the rugged Bolivian plains and small villages.

We will stop at Cuevas, known for its beautiful waterfalls, where you can have lunch before proceeding to Fort Samaipata. This site, whose name means "rest between mountains" in Quechua, features pre-Columbian ruins. The archaeological complex of Samaipata was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998. After the tour, we will head to the town of Samaipata for overnight accommodation.

Day 2: Samaipata - Santa Cruz

After breakfast, we will explore Samaipata, founded by Spanish settlers in 1618. During this visit, you will learn about its history, including its significance in Che Guevara's guerilla campaign in Bolivia.

Next, we will visit the Archaeological Museum of Samaipata, which features ceramics, statuettes, and other objects from the excavations of the fort.

After two memorable days, we will return to Santa Cruz de la Sierra, where you will be dropped off at your hotel around 6 pm.
