3-Day Tour of San José, Santiago de Chiquitos & Chochís

Day 1: Departing from Santa Cruz to San José

Your journey begins at 7 am, when we will collect you from your accommodation in Santa Cruz de la Sierra to embark on a voyage into the enchanting Chiquitania region. This area of Bolivia is known for its picturesque landscapes and rich cultural history. After approximately three hours on the road, we will arrive at San José de Chiquitos, one of the historic missionary settlements established by the Jesuits in the 17th century.

Upon arrival, we'll delve into the fascinating Mission Church of San José, notable for being the only church in the region constructed with a stone façade. At noon, we will enjoy a hearty two-course lunch at a local restaurant.

Post-lunch, we'll visit El Telar, a charming handicraft workshop where you will be introduced to exquisite Chiquitano textiles that trace back to colonial times. Here, local artisans will prepare a refreshing charcoal tea using traditional methods.

Next, we’ll ascend to a scenic viewpoint providing stunning vistas of the surrounding dry forests. While sipping coffee, you can observe the process of making Chiquitano rice bread. The day concludes with dinner at 8 pm, followed by an opportunity to relax and recharge for the next day's adventures.

Day 2: Journey from San José to Santiago de Chiquitos and Robore

Rise and shine! After breakfast, we will bid farewell to San José and make our way to Santiago de Chiquitos to tour the local missionary church and admire its wooden façade.

We'll then embark on a hike through the dry forests of the Tucabaca Valley. After enjoying a delicious lunch, we'll continue to Robore, where you'll have some leisure time to unwind in the hot springs or indulge in a rejuvenating massage and facial.

After this pampering session, we’ll make our way back to Santiago for dinner before settling in for the night.

Day 3: Exploring Chochís and Return to Santa Cruz

After breakfast at 8:30 am, we will depart for Chochís. Upon reaching this town nestled in a stunning natural environment, we will visit the Mariano de la Torre sanctuary. This remarkable site rests at the base of the Torre del Portón monument, a striking reddish rock recognized as the emblem of Chochís.

Following our exploration, we will commence our journey back to Santa Cruz, stopping for lunch at the Brasileiro restaurant along the way. We anticipate arriving back at your hotel by 6 pm.
