Do you want to visit the most fascinating region of Trinidad and Tobago? If you're in Port of Spain, don't miss this day trip to Lopinot, a village full of culture, music, chocolate, nature and enigmatic legends.
Description
After hotel pickup, we'll depart Port of Spain to Lopinot, influenced by French and Caribbean cultures. Our first stop will be the Count of Lopinot's prison, where we'll learn about the estate's history and explore its cocoa plantations. We will also experience a dance associated with cocoa, accompanied by parang music.
Next, we will visit the chocolate factory, renowned for producing one of the purest cocoa chocolates on the island. A chocolate tasting is included after observing the artisanal production process.
Then, we will head to Sr. Cyril Cooper's farm, another cocoa and coffee plantation, featuring the longest-living tree of Lopinot, which is over 100 years old.
We will conclude with a visit to the heart-shaped Martin Gomez cave, where we will see its resident bats, birds , and insects, along with learning local legends about apparitions.
Finally, we will return you to your hotel in Port of Spain after a total duration of 6 hours.
