Sagres, Cape St. Vincent & Silves Trip
After picking you up from your hotel between 8:30 am and 9 am, we'll embark on a route through notable areas of the Algarve. Our first stop will be the town of Silves to see its Arab castle, the best preserved in the country, followed by a visit to the cathedral, a gothic temple built upon the site of an old mosque.
We will continue our journey through the Serra de Monchique, ascending to the highest point, Foiá, for panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and the Atlantic Ocean. A lunch break will occur in the parish of Marmelete, followed by a visit to the beaches of Costa Vicentina for breathtaking views of its cliffs.
Next, we will visit Cape St. Vincent, a 75-meter promontory with a lighthouse and an old fort, marking the southwesternmost point of Europe. Lastly, we’ll pass through the fishing village of Sagres, known for its strategic fortress built in the 15th century, before returning to your hotel by approximately 4 pm.
