Hike through a spectacular valley and discover one of Portugal's most charming cities with this trip to the Paiva Walkways and Aveiro, departing from Porto.

Aveiro & Paiva Walkways Trip

At the indicated time, we'll meet at Rua de Alexandre Herculano, 173. From there, we'll take a 1-hour trip to the Passadiços do Paiva Trailhead.

Once at our destination, we'll start a 2-hour walk along the wooden walkways. We'll find ourselves in the middle of nature in the Arouca Geopark while enjoying the surroundings of the Paiva River as we walk about 5 km (3.1 miles).

Afterwards, we'll hop on the minibus and drive to Arouca, where we'll enjoy a traditional meal, with options including meat, fish, or a vegetarian selection. If you're interested, we can also walk the 516 Arouca Bridge, one of the longest pedestrian suspension bridges in the world.

Next, we'll head to Costa Nova, a fishing village known for its colourful houses. After exploring its streets, we'll make our way to Aveiro, often referred to as the Venice of Portugal. There, we'll see Republic Square and the 18th century Town Hall, as well as Art Nouveau structures like the Casa do Major Pessoa and the Ergovisão building.

After discovering Aveiro, we'll board a traditional moliceiro boat for a 45-minute trip along the city's canals, offering views of the colourful streets.

The trip will end with a return to Porto, with an estimated duration of 10 hours.
