On this tour, we'll visit Santiago de Compostela, a historic pilgrimage site, and Valença do Minho, a town on the Portugal-Spain border.

Description

After pickup at the San Bento train station, we will cross the scenic Minho region into Spain.

Our first destination is Santiago de Compostela, Spain's primary religious center and a key stop on the "Camino de Santiago". The visit begins at the cathedral, a notable example of romantic architecture, which is reputed to house the remains of St. James the Apostle. Currently, the cathedral is undergoing construction, but it remains a significant sight. Visitors can admire its façade despite some areas being closed.

After the cathedral visit, you will have free time for lunch and to explore the historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or shop for souvenirs.

In the afternoon, we will proceed to Valença do Minho. Here, you will have free time to explore its fortress, characterized by two towers and a double wall, representing military architecture from the 17th and 18th centuries.

We will conclude the tour at Rua de Alexandre Herculano after a total duration of 9 hours.
