Get to know the fertile banks of the Douro on this tour of the striking areas of Amarante and Pinhão. Discover the wine-producing region.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Calçada da Vandoma, next to Porto Cathedral, and head to the old city of Amarante to explore its historic centre and the stone St. Peter's Bridge, a regional symbol.
Next, we'll visit Galafura for sweeping views of the valley. To experience local gastronomy, we will have a meal at a traditional restaurant. During lunch, you may sample some of the region's finest wines. Please inform us of any allergies or dietary requirements.
Our tour will continue at Quinta da Roêda or a similar vineyard/wine cellar, where you can taste exquisite wines and learn about their flavor profiles. The Douro region was the first demarcated wine region worldwide and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Before returning, we'll take a cruise to explore the Pinhão region from the water, offering exceptional views.
After a total of 9 hours, we will conclude the tour by returning to Porto, dropping you off at Rua de Alexandre Herculano, 4000-053, a few metres from Praça da Batalha.
