Get to know the fertile banks of the Douro on this tour of the areas of Amarante and Pinhão. Discover the landscapes of this world-class wine-producing region.
Description
After meeting at San Bento railway station at the indicated time, the tour proceeds to the city of Amarante to explore its historic centre and the stone St. Peter's Bridge, the region's symbol.
The next stop will be Galafura, in the heart of the valley, offering views of the area. For lunch, we will dine in a traditional restaurant where you can sample some of the region's wines. Please inform us of any allergies or dietary requirements.
Our tour continues at Quinta da Roêda, or another similar vineyard. Here, we will taste some of their wines and learn about their flavor profiles. The Douro region is the first demarcated wine region in the world and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Before returning, we will take a cruise to explore the Pinhão region from the water. The views from the boat are noteworthy.
After a total of 9 hours, the tour concludes with a return to Porto, where we will drop you off at Rua de Alexandre Herculano, 4000-053, near Praça da Batalha.
