Get to know the fertile banks of the Douro on this tour of the striking areas of Amarante and Pinhão. Discover the wine-producing region.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Calçada da Vandoma, next to Porto Cathedral, and head to Amarante, where we will explore its historic centre and the stone St. Peter's Bridge, the symbol of the region.
The next stop will be Galafura, in the heart of the valley, offering views of the region. For lunch, we will eat at a traditional restaurant where you can sample some of the finest wines. Please inform us of any allergies or dietary requirements.
We will continue our tour at Quinta da Roêda or a similar vineyard/wine cellar, where we will sample exquisite wines and learn about their flavor nuances. The Douro region is the first demarcated wine region in the world and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Before returning, we will embark on a cruise to explore the Pinhão region from the water, with scenic views from the boat.
After 9 hours, we will conclude the tour and return to Porto, dropping you off at Rua de Alexandre Herculano, 4000-053, near Praça da Batalha.
