Apóstoles Yerba Mate & Tea Tour

Apóstoles is the Argentine capital of yerba mate. This excursion to Apóstoles in the province of Misiones is designed for those interested in mate and tea.

Options

When booking, travelers can select among various tour types in Misiones. Each option includes hotel pick-up from Posadas, transport, an English-speaking leader, and return transfer.

Yerba Mate Tour (5 hours)

The tour begins at the Casa del Mate, allowing exploration of the origins of Argentine yerba mate. This plant is essential for creating a popular national infusion linked to the area's Ukrainian and Polish communities from the 19th century.

Next, visit the Juan Szychowski Historical Museum, which showcases the history of La Cachuera S.A., the leading yerba mate exporting company in Argentina. Visitors will observe the harvesting and processing of yerba mate. A tasting of mates and other infusions is available at the end. Return transfer to Posadas follows.

Tea Tour (6 hours)

This tour travels to the La Ruta del Té estate, where participants can explore tea plantations. Staff will explain harvesting methods based on tea leaf types and discuss origins of tea plantations in Argentina. Afterward, enjoy a tasting of different teas produced in Misiones before the return trip to Posadas.

This tour combines the tea tour with the yerba mate tour. Participants will start with the tea tour at La Ruta del Té estate, tasting local offerings. The visit to the Juan Szychowski Historical Museum follows, including a tasting of Argentinean mates before returning to Posadas.
