Apóstoles + Santa Maria Jesuit Ruins

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Posadas to start our tour through Misiones. Our first stop is at Apóstoles, considered the capital of yerba mate in Argentina. We'll enjoy a panoramic tour of the city, passing by Casa del Monte and St. Peter's and St. Paul's Churches.

Next, we will visit the Juan Szychowski Historical Museum, where you can explore at your own pace the exhibit dedicated to yerba mate. Afterward, we will proceed to Azara for lunch at La Granja de Don Casiano restaurant, featuring a traditional-style barbecue with sausage, salad, and cabbage rolls.

Following lunch, we will visit the Manto Sagrado de Maria Church in Tres Capones, and then travel to the village of Concepción de la Sierra to explore the Jesuit mission of Concepción. Subsequently, we will reach the ruins of Santa Maria la Mayor, where we will take a guided tour of the Jesuit settlement.

We will explore the remnants of this missionary town and learn about the lasting legacy of the Society of Jesus in this area near the Uruguay River, close to the Argentina-Brazil border. Finally, we will return to your hotel in Posadas, completing 12 hours of cultural exploration.
