Are you familiar with the impact of the Jesuits in South America? Join us on a journey through the Jesuit ruins of Misiones, where we will explore the historic reductions of Santa Ana, Nuestra Señora de Loreto, and San Ignacio Miní.

Tour Overview

Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Posadas, as we embark on an exploration of the Jesuit ruins located in Misiones province.

The first location we will visit is the Jesuit reduction of Nuestra Señora de Santa Ana, established in 1633. Here, we will delve into the rich history of the Jesuits and the circumstances leading to their departure from South America due to the expulsion order from King Carlos III of Spain in 1767.

Our next destination will be the Jesuit reduction of Nuestra Señora de Loreto, which originated in 1610. Within the walls of this historic mission, we will uncover unique insights, including the innovative ways the Jesuits utilized the printing press to disseminate their teachings.

Lastly, we will visit the town of San Ignacio, home to the San Ignacio Miní reduction. Here, we will explore the legacy of its founder, the Jesuit Roque González de Santa Cruz, who established the mission in 1611.

After concluding our exploration of this final site, we will head back to Posadas, arriving at the original meeting point approximately 6 hours after the start of the tour.
