Explore the heritage of the Jesuits located in the province of Misiones with our excursion to the San Ignacio Ruins. Departing from Posadas, you will have the opportunity to visit San Ignacio Miní and partake in an engaging audiovisual presentation.

Visit to San Ignacio Miní

This excursion features a trip to the historic site of the San Ignacio Miní reduction, one of the prominent missions established by Jesuit priests in the 17th century. These European missionaries aimed to convert the local Guaraní Indigenous population around the Paraná River to Christianity.

San Ignacio Miní stands out as the most well-preserved Jesuit mission in Argentina. Our exploration will reveal several structures that remain intact, including the central square, the church, the Casa de los Padres, and other residential buildings, along with the cemetery and chapter house. Notably, all these edifices were constructed using the distinctive reddish asperon stone typical of the region.

Schedule: Departures from Posadas are at either 8 am or 2 pm, based on your selection. The return will be approximately 6 hours later.
