Explore the ruins of an ancient Roman town on our Herculaneum Day Trip. We'll take a trip back in time and learn what life was like for its residents before the eruption of Mount Vesuvius.

Herculaneum Day Trip

At 7:20 am, we'll meet on Viale Pasitea and depart from Positano heading north to Herculaneum. After 1 hour and 30 minutes of travel, we will arrive at this ancient Roman town.

Herculaneum was buried in ash during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD and was discovered in 1709. The town's remains were buried under a lava flow that solidified into rock, resulting in well-preserved houses and domestic items.

Our guided tour of Herculaneum will include notable sites such as the House of the Corinthian Atrium, the House of the Neptune Mosaic, the House of the Deer, and the Forum Baths. We will provide insights into the lives of Herculaneum's residents before the eruption.

Following the tour, you will have 1 hour of free time for lunch at a nearby restaurant. After reconvening, we will return to Positano, concluding the day at the meeting point at 1:20 pm.
