With this excursion to the Caracoles mine, we'll explore one of the active mines in Potosí and observe its operations.

Caracoles Mine Tour

At the selected time, we'll meet in front of the National Mint of Bolivia to begin this adventure through one of the working mines of Potosí.

We'll take a bus to the outskirts of the city, specifically to Cerro Rico, the silver deposit in the world, where most of the silver was extracted during colonial times, enriching the Spanish Empire.

We'll put on our safety equipment and visit the mining market and the chemical laboratory for mineral analysis and classification.

We'll then climb the hill, stopping at a viewpoint to enjoy views of Potosí before entering the Caracoles mine, one of the few active mines from colonial times.

Upon entry, we'll be welcomed by Tío, the miners' protector. Afterward, we'll walk for two hours through the tunnels, observing miners at work.

After a four-hour tour, we'll return to the starting point in Potosí.
