Immerse yourself in the rich colonial history around Potosí with a visit to the Hacienda Cayara and the stunning Villacolo Dam. This day trip takes you through picturesque landscapes and significant historic sites.

Hacienda Cayara & Villacolo Day Trip

We'll begin our journey at 8 am, gathering in front of the Casa de la Moneda before embarking on a tour that showcases the renowned attractions near the Villa Imperial de Potosí.

Our first stop will be the Devil's Cave, a captivating natural wonder. Following this, we will proceed to the Hacienda Cayara, an establishment that dates back to 1557 and holds the distinction of being the first hacienda in Bolivia.

This remarkable estate functions today as both a hostel and a museum, allowing us to delve into its intriguing past. We will explore the manor house, which is adorned with valuable artifacts, and appreciate its well-preserved colonial architecture complemented by stunning artworks.

Next, we will travel for about an hour to reach Villacolo. Upon arrival, we will have the chance to visit the dam and bask in the lovely views of the reservoir area.

As we continue, we will explore a cave featuring ancient cave paintings before pausing for a picnic lunch that includes a burger, fresh fruit, and water.

After a fulfilling day discovering the heritage and landscapes surrounding Potosí, we will return to the city for a drop-off around 4 pm.
