Potosi Mines Tour + Thuru Museum
At the arranged time, we will convene at the Casa de la Moneda to commence the tour. Initially, we will visit the mining market to observe products utilized in mining, including nitroglycerine. Following this, we will explore the chemical laboratory where mineral selections occur, leading to a viewpoint for a panoramic view of Potosí.
Next, we will examine the exterior of the Candelaria and Rosario mines and discuss their significance since colonial times, noting that 80% of the world's silver originates from Cerro Rico.
The final destination is the Thuru Museum, named after an invention used for mineral refining since colonial times. After viewing this artifact, we will explore the exhibition featuring mineral collections and mining work materials from that period.
We will return to Potosí approximately three to four hours after departure.
