San Francisco Monastery Guided Tour
At your chosen time, we will meet on Calle Ayacucho and proceed to the Monastery of San Francisco, built in 1548. This convent reflects the wealth from Potosí's silver mines, which facilitated the construction of significant religious buildings.
The complex features a church with tiled domes, a bell tower, monks' residences, and a crypt located under the main altar. We will visit the temple for monks' prayers and observe the high altar, then explore various rooms of the monastery and the paintings related to the Franciscan order.
Following this, we will descend to the catacombs, which house the remains of numerous individuals. Our 1-hour tour will conclude at the monastery's exit.
