Day Trip Details
We will depart from the former bus terminal on Avenida Universitaria to begin the excursion to Salar de Uyuni. After reaching the Uyuni bus station, we'll board an off-roading vehicle toward the salt flats.
The first stop will be the Uyuni train cemetery, where the remains of the first railroads in Bolivia from the 19th century are located.
Next, we will visit Colchani, the gateway to the Uyuni salt flats, to observe the salt eyes, holes where groundwater emerges due to thermal activity.
We'll then stop at the Playa Blanca hotel, constructed entirely from salt blocks, which contains a museum and restaurant.
At midday, enjoy a lunch with seasonal regional products to recharge. Following lunch, we'll visit Plaza de las Banderas, known for its flagpoles featuring flags from various countries. Bring your flag to commemorate your visit!
Our final stop will be Incahuasi Island in the salt flat's heart, where we will see large cacti and petrified coral formations. It’s an ideal spot for last photos.
Lastly, we will return to the bus station in Uyuni and depart for Potosí, with arrival scheduled for midnight after a 19.5-hour day of adventure.
