Spend the day exploring a surreal place on our Uyuni Salt Flat Day Trip from Potosí. Experience one of the most breathtaking locations in Bolivia.
Uyuni Salt Flat Day Trip
We will depart from the old bus terminal on Avenida Universitaria at the designated time. Upon arrival at the Uyuni bus station, our first stop will be the Uyuni Train Cemetery, where we will see the remains of Bolivia's first locomotives from the 19th century.
Next, we will visit Colchani, the gateway to the Uyuni Salt Flat. Here, we will attend a demonstration of the extraction process and observe the unique salt eyes, where underground water reaches boiling point due to geothermal energy.
The extracted salt is arranged in mounds for drying and transport. We will see this process before proceeding to the Playa Blanca Hotel, constructed entirely of salt blocks.
Weather permitting, we will visit Fish Island, known for its unspoilt nature. After the tour, we will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch and have free time for photos and watching a magical sunset over the Uyuni Salt Flat.
We will then return to the bus station in Uyuni and start our return trip to Potosí, with arrival scheduled for midnight.
