Cidade Velha Day Trip

Pickup at around 9 am from your accommodation in Praia, followed by a trip to Cidade Velha, the first Portuguese city in Africa. Visit the San Felipe Fort, situated 120 metres above sea level, built to defend against pirate attacks, including one by Francis Drake.

In the city center, visit the ruins of the cathedral, reminiscent of the 16th century. Next, proceed to the main square, which was previously the slave market, and see the Pelourinho, the site of public executions.

Explore the iconic Banana street, known for its notable houses, and the fifteenth-century church of Our Lady of the Rosary.

After the tour, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant featuring grilled fish, dessert, and coffee. The tour concludes with a return to Praia, arriving back at your hotel around 3:30 pm.
