Cidade Velha Day Trip
Pickup will be around 9 am from your accommodation in Praia. The trip will take you to Cidade Velha, the first Portuguese city in Africa. You will visit the San Felipe Fort, located 120 metres above sea level, built for defense against pirate attacks.
The center of the city features the ruins of the cathedral, reflecting the 16th century. Next, you will explore the main square, once the site of the slave market, and see the Pelourinho, the location of public executions.
The tour will also include a visit to Banana street, known for its distinctive houses, and the fifteenth-century church of Our Lady of the Rosary.
Lunch will be at a local restaurant, featuring grilled fish, dessert, and coffee. The tour will conclude with a return to Praia, with drop-off at your hotel around 3:30 pm.
