On this tour of Santiago island, you'll discover the very heart of Cape Verde. Visit the towns of Assomada and Tarrafal, as well as trying some of its typical grogue.

Santiago Island Tour

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Praia at 9 am and head inland into Santiago island. We will stop in Picos to try locally made grogue, a white rum made from cane sugar, and see thePico de Antonia, the tallest mountain on the island.

In Assomada, we’ll explore its market, which features fruit, vegetables, and fresh fish. Afterward, we will cross theSerra de Malagueta Natural Park on our way toTarrafal.

In Tarrafal, we'll visit a fishing village known for its beaches and theconcentration camp from the Second World War, along with theMuseum of the Resistance where its history is discussed.

Lunch will be served in a restaurant in Tarrafal, featuring typical dishes of fried fish, stuffed tuna or grouper, vegetables, salad, water, and coffee, all while overlooking the Atlantic.

We will return to Praia via picturesque bays and deserted beaches, arriving at your accommodation by 5 pm, concluding an unforgettable day in Santiago.
