Santiago Island Tour

On this tour of Santiago island, you will explore Cape Verde. The tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Praia at 9 am as we head inland. A stop at Picos will allow you to sample locally made grogue, a white rum made from cane sugar. You will also view the Pico de Antonia, the tallest mountain on the island.

Upon arrival in Assomada, you will visit its market, which offers a variety of fruits, vegetables, and fresh fish. The tour continues through the Serra de Malagueta Natural Park, leading to the fishing village of Tarrafal.

In Tarrafal, you will discover its beautiful beaches, though the area has a historical significance as it housed a concentration camp during World War II. This history is documented in the Museum of the Resistance.

Lunch will be served in a restaurant in Tarrafal, featuring options such as fried fish, stuffed tuna or grouper, alongside vegetables, salad, water, and coffee, all while enjoying views of the Atlantic.

The return to Praia will showcase stunning bays and deserted beaches. The day concludes with drop-off at your accommodation at 5 pm, marking the end of your Santiago experience.
