São Vicente Island Day Trip

Your adventure begins early at 5 am when we will collect you from your accommodation in Praia and transport you to Santiago Island Airport. Here, you will board a flight to São Vicente Island, arriving after a brief one-hour journey.

Upon landing, we will greet you at the airport terminal and begin a guided exploration of São Vicente Island, recognized as the second most populous island within the Cape Verde archipelago. Our first stop will be in the capital city, Mindelo. In Mindelo, we will visit key sites such as the main church, the renowned municipal market, and the childhood home of iconic singer Cesária Évora. Furthermore, we will make our way to the Fortim do Rei, where you'll have the opportunity to view the Belém Tower and discover its connection to the tower in Lisbon.

After our time in Mindelo, we will proceed to the Praia da Bote market. This market is known for its fresh fish typically harvested from the waters near Salamansa. Following our visit, we will continue to Gatas Bay, where you can capture stunning images of its remarkable sand dunes.

Our next destination will be the Monte Verde Natural Park. This magnificent area is recognized for its unique rock formations, referred to as 'volcanic tuffs'. After taking in the beautiful scenery, we will head back to Mindelo, allowing you a 30-minute break for lunch alongside Laginha Beach.

Subsequently, we will transport you to São Vicente Airport in a timely manner for your return flight. Once you are back at Santiago Island, we will meet you at the terminal and take you back to your hotel in Praia, with an estimated arrival time of 6 pm.

Flights between Praia and São Vicente

You will need to arrange your own flight departing from RAI (Praia Airport on Santiago Island), which leaves at 7 am and arrives at VXE (São Vicente Airport) at 7:55 am. This route is operated by the airline Binter.
