On this guided visit of Procida, we'll discover details about this island in the Gulf of Naples: its history, churches, viewpoints, monuments, and its harbour.
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Marina Grande to begin visiting one of the most colourful islands in the Gulf of Naples. While we walk around the streets, we'll uncover the unique history and traditions.
We will start our tour at the Church of Santa Maria della Pietà, built in 1760 on the site of a chapel from 1616, also known as the Church of the Sailors.
Next, we will walk to Corricella, a 17th-century harbour known for its architecture. We will then climb to Procida Castle and continue to Terra Murata to enjoy stunning views.
At the top, we will explore the Ávalos Palace, which previously served as a citadel prison and is currently off-limits. After viewing this site, we will visit the San Michele Abbey, established in the 8th century.
After 2 hours together, we will conclude the tour back at the meeting point.
