Delve into the culture and traditions of Pucón's Mapuche community. You'll learn about their customs, rites & dances and even play one of their ancestral sports.

Mapuche Culture Tour

At 2 pm, we will pick you up at your hotel in Pucón and drive to the outskirts of the city to visit a local Mapuche community near the Villarrica Volcano.

During the tour, we will explore the community and learn about the culture and history of the Mapuche people by visiting several rucas, or traditional houses. Families will share insights into their worldview, main customs, dances, rites, and religious ceremonies.

Participants will engage in various community activities, including toasting wheat and spinning wool. There will also be an opportunity to try on traditional Mapuche clothing, such as the ñaña dress for women and the huentro for men.

Additionally, we will organize games of palín and chueca, two traditional Mapuche sports, along with explanations of their historical significance.

The tour concludes with a return to your hotel in Pucón, arriving at 6 pm.

This activity includes pickup from hotels in central Pucón. For those in more remote locations, pickup will be at Calle Pedro de Valdivia, 375.
