What is the habitat of Puerto Iguazú's nocturnal animals like? We'll discover this during our nighttime hiking tour around Iryapú Jungle Reserve. You'll be stunned!
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at Jangadero, 136 and proceed to the Iryapú Natural Reserve in the Paranaense rainforest.
Upon arrival at this 600 hectares (1,482 acres) natural space, we'll start the nighttime hike. This tour will highlight the customs and traditions of the indigenous Mbya-Guaraní peoples of the area.
During this lower-difficulty hike, we will walk a total of 4 km (2.48 miles), observing huge trees like rosewoods, guatambus, and cedars, along with strangler fig trees, and a great variety of palm trees, ferns, orchids, and fruit trees.
We will also encounter various animal species such as coatis, weasels, cai monkeys, southern tamanduas, short-tailed opossums, and snakes. With keen observation, we might spot frogs, spiders, and numerous insects. To protect their habitat, we will collect any observed litter using a special bag.
Lastly, we'll return to the starting point of the hike and head back to the meeting point in Puerto Iguazú, with a total duration of around 2 hours.
