Discover the history of the Argentinan region of Misiones on this trip to see the remains of the San Ignacio Jesuit Mission and the Wanda Mines of semi-precious stones.

Options

When you book, you can select one of two options. Both include pickup and drop-off for hotels in Puerto Iguazu.

San Ignacio Miní & Wanda Mines (12 Hours)

Pickup from your hotel occurs in the morning, traveling along the Paraná River towards the south of Misiones. The first stop is at the San Ignacio Miní Jesuit Mission ruins, a registered World Heritage Site, where the history of Roque González de Santa Cruz Jesuit will be discussed. This location features a sound and light show and showcases baroque stone architecture crafted by indigenous artists.

Following this, the tour proceeds to the Wanda mines, known for semi-precious stones such as quartz, amethysts, topaz, and agates, with insights into extraction and processing. The trip includes visiting yerba mate and tea plantations and a yerba mate mill. A lunch break is provided before returning to your hotel.

Wanda Mines (4 Hours)

Pickup occurs at a chosen meeting point, followed by an hour-long drive to the Wanda Mines. Visitors witness the semi-precious stone extraction process firsthand and explore the mine workshop. The tour concludes back at hotels in Puerto Iguazu.
