Ever heard of Isla de la Plata? With this excursion from Puerto López, we'll discover the beautiful landscapes of this small island that's part of Machalilla National Park!
Isla de la Plata Excursion
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the dock of Puerto Lopez, where we'll board a boat. After sailing for about 2 hours, we'll arrive at Isla de la Plata, located in the Machalilla National Park.
This protected area is one of the most extensive along the country's coastline and consists of two sections: one terrestrial and one marine. This area hosts the only coral reefs in Ecuador.
Throughout the trip, a local guide will provide explanations as we admire the landscape, including sea birds, rock formations, cliffs, and more. Upon arrival on land, we'll go for a stroll to observe the endemic fauna and flora of this island, also known as the Little Galapagos.
At the end of the walk, we'll have a picnic lunch that includes a sandwich, two seasonal fruits, mineral water, and soda. After lunch, we'll proceed to a spot ideal for snorkeling, where the crystalline waters allow for viewing various coral reefs and marine species.
We'll conclude the excursion by returning to the dock of Puerto Lopez, arriving 9 hours after setting sail.
