PADI Open Water Course

Learn to dive like a professional in the Machalilla marine reserve in this PADI Open Water course in Puerto López. You can choose from two different levels, depending on your previous experience.

Options

The marine reserve of Machalilla National Park is a paradise for scuba diving lovers. In its coral reefs, you can find a multitude of species such as fish, turtles, crustaceans, and cetaceans. This PADI Open Water course in Puerto López is an option to learn underwater movement and discover marine treasures.

PADI Open Water Course

The PADI Open Water course has three parts, which can be completed in 2 or 3 days, depending on your choice of classroom or distance learning.

Day 1

The first part consists of a theoretical lesson on the basic principles of diving. This can be done face-to-face or at home, with documents sent for self-study if choosing the latter method.

Day 2

On the second day, we begin with diving in confined waters to practice learned skills. After a lunch break, we proceed to the open sea for two dives of up to 12 meters (40 feet).

Day 3

The final day is designated for two more open water dives to explore Puerto López. You will receive your PADI Open Water certificate at the course conclusion.

PADI Advanced Open Water Course

In the PADI Advanced Open Water course, you'll extend the dive depth limit to 30 meters (98 feet) and enhance previously acquired skills.

This course includes five dives: one Deep Adventure Dive, one Underwater Navigator Adventure Dive, and three dives selected from the following:

Upon completion, you'll receive a temporary PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification card, valid worldwide. The permanent card will arrive by mail a few weeks later.
