San Sebastián Rainforest Excursion

Spend a day in connection with nature in the Ecuadorian province of Manabí on this excursion to the San Sebastián rainforest. We'll see toucans, howler monkeys, and the most exuberant flora.

San Sebastián Rainforest Excursion

After picking you up at the indicated time at the meeting point in Puerto López or Montañita, we'll begin this excursion to the San Sebastián rainforest. We'll travel by vehicle to Río Blanco, where we will start a 3.5-hour hike through the rainforest.

During the hike, we'll observe various bird species and the distinctive flora of Machalilla National Park, which shares traits with the Amazon rainforest. It is recognized as an important site of biological regeneration within the Choco-Manabi Binational Corridor.

Be on the lookout for howler monkeys, guans, guantas, deer, and a wide variety of insects. The San Sebastián rainforest hosts more than 150 endemic species.

Approximately at 1:45 pm, we'll pause for a delicious lunch consisting of a starter, a main course, and a drink.

The excursion concludes with our return to the meeting point, with arrival scheduled between six and eight hours later, depending on your starting location.
