Around the picturesque Chubut River valley, there are several towns with Welsh names, such as Rawson, Trelew, and Gaiman. Discover this area of Argentina and its culture on this tour from Puerto Madryn.

Chubut Valley Trip

We will depart from your hotel in Puerto Madryn and head to Rawson. Upon arrival at the capital of Chubut province, we will board a boat for a dolphin watching cruise. You will observe diverse marine animals inhabiting the southern Atlantic region.

After the boat trip, we will go to the coastal resort of Playa Union, where you will have free time to enjoy local seafood in nearby restaurants. Once reenergized, we will travel to the Chubut River valley, established by Welsh colonists. Our next stop is the town of Gaiman.

In Gaiman, you will explore the town center and see the Welsh legacy in the old railway station and colonial houses built by early settlers. We will visit a classic teahouse to enjoy Welsh tea and biscuits.

The tour continues to Trelew, which developed after the construction of the Central Chubut Railway connecting the valley to Puerto Madryn. You will learn about the significance of this railway. We will also visit a lagoon in the town to observe flamingos and other birds in the ecosystem.

Your tour concludes at the Egidio Feruglio Paleontological Museum, showcasing impressive dinosaur fossils. Finally, you will be returned to your hotel in Puerto Madryn.
