Florentino Ameghino Dike

The excursion begins around 9 am with a hotel pickup in Puerto Madryn. From there, we will travel southwest for approximately 125 miles to reach the Florentino Ameghino dike.

During our journey, you will witness the breathtaking beauty of Argentina's Patagonia, traversing extensive, serene plains and ascending through the majestic mountains of Chubut province.

After a two-and-a-half-hour ride, we will arrive at the Florentino Ameghino dam. Your guide will take you through the tunnels inside the dam, leading up to the top of its concrete wall.

At the summit, you will be greeted by two distinct landscapes: to one side lies a vibrant emerald lake, and on the other, the red-rock canyon where the Chubut river flows.

Next, we will visit the quaint Villa Dique Florentino Ameghino, a small community of around 200 residents situated along the lakes. Here, you will have the opportunity to wander through picturesque streets and enjoy a savory regional dish of Patagonian lamb (not included).

After our visit, we will return to the vehicle and head back to your hotel, with an estimated arrival time of 5 pm.
