Florentino Ameghino Dam Trip

Discover the spectacular landscapes of Patagonia on a trip to the Florentino Ameghino dam, an important hydroelectric center for the region's inhabitants.

Florentino Ameghino Dike

Around 9 am, we will collect you from your hotel in Puerto Madryn for a 125-mile journey to the Florentino Ameghino dike. During the tour, you will experience the beauty of Argentina's Patagonia region while passing through plains and mountains of Chubut province.

After approximately two and a half hours of travel, we will reach the Florentino Ameghino dam. Our guide will lead us through the tunnels inside the dam to the summit of the concrete wall.

At the top, you will observe two distinct landscapes: an emerald lake on one side and a red-rock canyon with the Chubut river on the other. We will then visit the small settlement of Villa Dique Florentino Ameghino, where you can stroll through the streets and try a regional dish of Patagonian lamb (not included).

After the visit, we will return to the vehicle and take you back to your hotel, arriving at 5 pm.
