Florentino Ameghino Dam Trip

Discover the spectacular landscapes of Patagonia when you take our trip to the Florentino Ameghino dam. You will learn about the importance of this hydroelectric center for the region's inhabitants.

Florentino Ameghino Dike

Around 9 am, we will collect you from your hotel in Puerto Madryn and set off on a 125-mile journey to the Florentino Ameghino dike.

During the tour, you will witness the beauty of Argentina's Patagonia region, passing through extensive plains and mountains of Chubut province.

After approximately two and a half hours of travel, we will reach the Florentino Ameghino dam. Our guide will lead us through the tunnels inside the dam, reaching the summit of the concrete wall.

At the top, you will see two landscapes: one side features an emerald lake, while the other presents the red-rock canyon through which the Chubut river flows.

We will also visit Villa Dique Florentino Ameghino, a settlement of about 200 inhabitants located on the lakes of the dike. You can stroll through the streets and have the opportunity to try a regional dish of Patagonian lamb (not included).

Afterward, we will return to the vehicle and take you back to your hotel, arriving at 5 pm.
