Florentino Ameghino Dam Trip

Florentino Ameghino Dike

We will collect you from your hotel in Puerto Madryn at around 9 am for a 125-mile journey to the Florentino Ameghino dike.

During the tour, witness the beauty of Argentina's Patagonia region as we pass across extensive plains and through the mountains of Chubut province.

After approximately two and a half hours, we will arrive at the Florentino Ameghino dam. A guide will lead us through the tunnels and to the summit of the concrete wall.

From the top, you will see two landscapes: an emerald lake on one side and a red-rock canyon where the Chubut river flows on the other.

We will also visit Villa Dique Florentino Ameghino, a small settlement with around 200 inhabitants, located on the lakes of the dike. Stroll through the streets and have the chance to try a regional dish of Patagonian lamb (not included).

After the visit, we will return to the vehicle and drop you off at your hotel, arriving at 5 pm.
